    Default Alberta Real Estate Outlook

    Is the bottom going to drop out this year or next?

    How much of an adjustment do you think will be seen?

    I am guess a 40% drop then a rebound to 30% under current market value.

    Comments?

    I'm still selling and buying homes for clients. I don't think you will see the numbers you are suggesting. Prices have come down a little but people are still buying. A lot of money in this city still,

    Brad if a house drops 40% as capt. happy proposes, I will personally come and buy a property from you as an investment/ rental property

    Haha. There are some amazing deals to be had now. I recently got one of my clients a 2400 sqft estate home with a walkout backing onto a ridge for less then what the original owners paid for it new in 2008.

    From what I've read , the Calgary market has dropped 2% . I would need it to drop a lot more before I would jump in. I'm really looking for an investment opportunity. I'm not an end user for a house in Calgary.

    I've seen as much as 10% on million dollar homes.

    I based my 40% decline on articles which estimated Alberta Real Estate as being 40% over valued.

    Also I am seeing signs of a 2008 style meltdown in 2016, which will place further downward pressure on the market.

    Saudi Arabia may be cranking their production again in an effort to cut off their adversaries incomes.
    That does not bode well for the patch.

    I am taking a wait an see approach.

    Alberta will Boom again if the Saudis turn off the taps, or if the entire Middle East gets drawn into conflict.
