The brake ,The hit ,The bust, etc etc are all used to describe one car leaving before the other, usually it is pre-arranged in the race negotiation but in the case of "Stealing the Brake", It is referring to a car jumping the flagger and seeing if the other car will follow thus giving the "Stealer of the brake" a legitimate head start due to the "A chase is a race /2 tires crack its a race rule".

If someone tries to steal the brake though, and the other car sits, that's considered a jump, and can be negotiated/reprimanded as such.

In the vid, both cars tried there hand at jumping (and the other sat), and in the last try, the Camaro jumped, but the mustang was quick to leave and then run him down.

Just remember, if you don't like the flag, or someone is trying to steal the brake, SIT.
