That was an old photo...I sold those Sportsmans to Faran with the white '57 Pro Street Bel Air, and replaced them with a sticky set of Hoosier Quick Time Pros...the only reason it started to spin a ways out of the hole, other than the use of a trans brake on the street and hitting it with the unit, was because the tires had cooled considerably during the whole staging and false start of that street race with misfit.

Hey Greg...I forgot about that ride...I tell you, if we had that on film, it would have been used in a movie.
I cannot think of a more satisfying feeling than "building up steam" slowly accelerating to 3000 RPM holding it for a second or two, and then just drilling the pedal and holding on for the ride, while everything goes blurry and the senses are overwhelmed.

Note to self: When a big tire car has one tire that leaks a little more air than the other, and the owner is too lazy to check tire pressure before making an idiotic pass on a city street with traffic, and pedestrians to show off to a buddy as if they were on lunch break at high school...the car will turn left or right in a manner that simulates a broken axle. The only reason we survived that highly stupid manouver, was because I was tired, and lazy and didn't react with razor sharp reflexes.

Greg asked, "how did you know how to miss hitting the curb/sidewalk/and light pole?"
I said, "I didn't"
I'll tell you...that was probably one of the dumbest moves I've made in recent history.
When you watch shit like that go down on youtube, you say, "What a fucking idiot...what was he thinking"

Let's get some more photos posted please. I just learned how to post photos, so I'm "O.D.-ing" on the feature.

Potential yes, does it have a time slip? Nope. Not hatin the car, but it was some race gas burning, window shattering beast, that was not sorted out at all. For Daniluks bank roll, the car was a let down. Honestly I cant even remember a 9 second pass from the car.

Ohwell. Get your shit on the road immi.  Smiley
OH HO!,. I think your about to hit "FAIL" here!?!?!?!,.....

although Barry's on his way to Europe as we speak,.

I'd like to see documentation rather then hear say. Hear say means fuck all. I've seen nothing posted anywhere, nor talked about. The car was boat load of fail the last time anyone talked about it.

I've seen the car, rode in the car, and know about it. Should I bow down that you talked to him? HA dream on, I could careless Chris. He never raced one soul on the street with that thing. He rocked the glass out of car windows, thats about it. I'm not the only one that knows the car was a cluster fuck, It rolled out of his garage expecting it to be the end all big bad Camaro, on the streets it didn't work well, at the track it didn't, car went somewhere for work and tried to get it sorted, pretty sure he scattered the engine in it at one point too, it was not consistant until it left his hands. Even when he ran it in the 100 foot shoot outs the car was getting cleaned up by half the tire, half the ci, 1/4 the budget! Coming from Barry, it was a let down. Yea his game turned around once he purchased the pro-mod camaro or whatever class car. Why do you think he sold it? hahahah call him and see what his answer is?

Instead of riding his cock or cutting it, let Barry come on here and  tell us.
Investing a lot of cash into a car, only to be dissappointed is not uncommon. The only winners are typically the engine builders, painters, and hired wrenches.
Show me a guy who pours cash at something, takes it to the track, runs the killer time, and goes to bed that night feeling 100% satisfied.
Few and far between.
I'd say less than 10% . So 90% of the people have a lot of work ahead of them...but they will get there...just takes time, patience, and, unfortunately, more hard-earned cash.

All I remember as a youngin and loving cars, was it was talked up sooo much said it would go 8's out of the box then when it didn't, it seemed like the car hid in the shadow when it didn't perform. It sucks that it didn't, I was pumped about riding in it, wasn't hating the car, nor am I hating it now. Just stating my opinion. Smiley However you will never find me claiming my car to do something. Everyone asks what it will do or what I think it will do. I never give an answer. The most annoying part is when you make a claim and don't meet it, everyone puts 100% effort in letting you know. However I will state what it has done. Thats fact, I like facts.

Here's a favorite of mine.
The only reason it is a favorite, is because one night, I took L8ON out for a spin.
We floored it down Barlow...the car wasn't that quick, but it was light, and anybody who has been in one of these knows that it is like sitting in a shopping cart with a small block in it.
Anywho, as we hit third gear and maybe 80MPH, the front end started to shake violently, the grille fell down, the 2 firewall-to-rad- struts flew off, and we just about crashed the car.
Additional damage included 5 holes in the dash where L8ON dug his nails in, and a foul odor that was a mix of pee-pee and poo-poo, that emanated from the passenger seat.

Someday, I would like another one, but with a drag race chassis under it, and about 1500HP...and a diaper.

Oh, and I bought this car after watching American Grafitti...does anybody else suffer from this ailment?

is that car in red deer now ?

i love this car it has always bin one of my favorites

This is back in Saskatoon about 20 years ago. That was My 1972 LT-1 (last year of the LT-1) 4 speed Z/28 equipped with a brand new set of centerlines...My 1986 SCCA California Mazda RX-7 which weighed 2350lbs and was very quick, and my Mercedes 450SE that I bought when I lived in San Diego. That was a beautiful car.

I bought all of these cars using the money I got from my student loans. Thank you Government of Canada and Province of Saskatchewan. I finally paid off those loans under threat of court action after I held them off for about 7 years. Back in those days loans were interest free. All I can tell you is that the Gubmint loaned me $20,000 to go to school...I went to California and invested the money, and well, the rest, as they say, is history. I paid them back with the chump change that I made with their money...and got edumacated to boot. Is this a great fucking country or what.
I am a very lucky immigrant!

Check out the crushed velvet and chrome under hood...I was quite proud of the detail work I did underhood.
I think that was my first K&N Filter, and it was $45. Which was a lot of money back then.

I'm not worked up, I'm just stating that everything about the car was a hidden secret. Fuck it only took him what a year to release the 632ci number. HAH.

Only one of roughly 7 because those were the same 7 to run each and every year. No need to glorify things.

Anyways, my apologies to gib. I really dig the pics. Sweet seeing some pictures of the cars I hear stories about!! Wish I could have lived those years!

This was my my first Porsche 911 SC
I was racing an M3 south on Crowchild...we took the glenmore ramp to go Glenmore east. , and I was doing about 90 Km/hr, lost control, and spun the car out on the rampafter the back end jumped up off the ground after going over one of the expansion joints.
As I was spinning around facing the M3, I made eye contact with the driver for a fraction of a second...He looked as though he was watching somebody fall off of a cliff.
I spun around again, and thought that it was a miracle that I had not hit anything...and then IMPACT!!!
I slammed into the concrete barriers backwards...actually on the rear corner of the car.
Once the dust cleared, I hopped out, checked to see if the car was drivable and the tires weren't punctured, then fucked off.
I pulled over again a little way past the ramp and about 30 seconds later a cop drove by...NICE!!!

The car was wrecked...it had tweaked it...everything was bent.
I did a lot of business with Contemporary Coachworks at that time, so I paid them cash, they did a quickie fix, and I sold the car to some oil guy in Calgary. I disclosed that it had been damaged, but I just don't like a car once it has been "bent".

I take the glenmore ramp just about every day and continue to replay that crash every time...only now I know how to take that corner...s-l-o-w-l-y
